ADMISSIONS
A smooth admissions process helps clients feel comfortable and informed before entering treatment.
The admissions process for enrolling in a mental health treatment program is primarily concerned with the financial aspects of enrollment, such as insurance benefits and/or private pay options. During the admissions process, the program representative requests a client’s insurance information, and then contacts the insurer about the plan’s coverage.
When the details of the insurance coverage are obtained, the client is then informed. They will be notified of any copays and deductibles, which services are covered under the plan, maximum out-of-pocket expenses, and the percentage of coverage.
In the absence of a health insurance plan, the client will consider other payment options. These might include payment by credit card, or possibly a monthly payment arrangement with the treatment center.
After completing the admissions process, it is time for the intake and assessment process. This step involves a thorough psychological evaluation to assist the clinical team in reaching a specific diagnosis. The evaluation includes the client’s medical and mental health history, any substance use history, and results from specific assessment tools.
From the information gathered during intake, the clinical team then designs a tailored treatment plan to effectively address the diagnosis. The plan will include any special features that accompany the diagnosis, such as co-occurring mental health disorders. The treatment plan makes recommendations for medications, psychotherapies, adjunctive therapies, holistic therapies, and continuing care actions.
Robles Ranch Mental Health accepts insurance coverage from most major health insurance providers. Insurers offer varying levels of coverage for mental health services, so the admissions team will interface with the insurance provider to obtain coverage details. This helps to prepare clients in advance for potential out-of-pocket expenses for the mental health services.
With the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, individual and group health insurance plans now must provide some degree of coverage for mental health and behavioral health services.
